View Full Version : Teak Table stain

I bought a teal table about 3 years ago. The surface went dark grey. I have fixed this though using some teak cleaner.
The table had a container with some dilute vinegar on it for around 3-4 months and it leaked. This has put a couple of round white rings on the table where there is bare wood. The teak there is bleached white. Whiter than when the table was brand new.

I am hoping to sell the table, but the white rings will reduce the price. What can I do to make the whole table have the same colour? I'm guessing that some sort of teak stain might help reduce if not eliminate the obvious white spot but I am open to any other suggestions.
Note that when the photos were taken the table was drying off from the teak cleaner. The dark areas in the photo are just damp areas. When dry the table will be a more or less a uniform colour throughout except for the white rings.

I did a boat deck repair recently, very similar. I just scraped the affected area, and further out with a cabinet scraper, then sanded with 240 and finer, then used Danish oil, (or similar) but maybe just try a bit of oil on the ringed areas first, it might soak into the oxidized area and colour it down. You most likely will have to sand the whole top probably

Hi riverbuilder. I'll give the Danish Oil a go. Thanks for the tip.
