hi,

I have an 1930's Oak, 2 piece dining table.
it has had a little water damaged and in storage for a few years.
it's now bowed slightly in the concave. and some slight splitting.
after searching Mr Google and here. trying to find the right/easiest solution.
I've gone with the wet towel/batten/clamp option.
now my question is, do you place the wet towel on the concave or the convex of the bow.

or another options.

thanks in advance

Concave. You are trying to expand the shrunken cells of the timber.

I had a severely bowed set of drawers, silky oak. Wet towel, out on the grass in the sun. Worked too well, and had to do it a couple of times to bring it right. Clamped to frame while it dried out.
