Hey everyone,
My name is Tom and I am from NSW and have an interest in all things shed related. Wood, metal, machinery, tools for tools sake.
I am a gumtree lurker and have been slowly buying old Australian made machinery for cheap. I am hoping to have only Australian made machinery where possible. I am also studying to be a wood/metal teacher for high school so want to expand my knowledge as much as possible.
so far I have managed to buy a
tablesaw (Austrec), 12'' jointer (Macson), radial arm saw 'supersaw'(H R Cousins), wood lathe (Woodfast), electric hacksaw (gray & harper),
my most recent purchase is a bandsaw of unknown make, I shall be placing a post in the machinery forum to see if anyone here can ID it.
I am on the hunt for a thicknesser, but the deals have been thin on the ground.
Anyway keen to be part of this community!

Cheers and welcome to the forum. You forgot to add your name in the post. Good top see you have an Aussie patriotic streak where tools are concerned. Hope you find what you are looking for mate.

G'Day & Welcome to a top forum "Tom",
There are quite a stack members around Sydney and cross NSW plus the rest of the country.....
You'll find a heap of helpful & knowledgeable blokes & ladies on the forum and for most very willing to assist.
Make sure you show off your handiwork as everyone loves a photo, especially WIP [Work In Progress] photos with build notes.
Enjoy the forum.
Enjoy your woodwork......
Cheers crowie

Yeah the wealth of information and people ready to help others is just awesome!
I am overseas for a few months but when I get back there will quite a few WIP posts to do.
Im sure with lots of questions as I have a number of projects in areas I have little experience.
thanks for the welcome!
