Finally found an old filing cabinet to match some of my older desks. This one was going into the ground before being rescued so has suffered some scratches. My problem is I want to find some replacement drawer rod knurled brass heads (my naming anyhow and maybe this is a problem). Can anyone suggest where to look as I'm not getting places. Brisbane would be good but happy to order.

Maybe worth checking out Goods & Chattels web site, seeing as they are in Brisbane.

I don't think G Brown Antiques has them . Unless some of the other threaded knobs happen to match that. Most of that type Ive seen there have small fine threads .

What are they , a knob that goes on the end of the rod that the files slide up and down on ?

Thank you Chris I had forgotten them. No luck from what I could see.

Yes, that's correct Rob. I found similar ones for sale in the USA but just not the same. May be another of my 2 year hunting jobs :)

If I couldn't find something original then I was going to try the Men's shed as we have a shed full of new equipment coming soon and a mill and lathe are amongst the equipment. But your idea may be the fall back.
