Hi all, I am about to renovate my small bathroom (nothing flash) and a friend has suggested getting the 40yr old bath recoated rather than replacing it. It has a couple of minor chips and a few rust stains so was wondering if anyone has had this done or any other thoughts ? thanks.

Depends on the extent of your renovation but new baths are cheap to buy but there is the installation aspect to consider
Repainting baths insitu is not as good as having them sent away and professionally resurfaced but that is expensive

Hi Beardy, yeh it is a freshening up kinda reno, new tiles etc, getting the bath out would add to the $$ The house is a 40 year old + brick veneer, any tips or hints to brighten up the bath myself ? the rust stains are only small but are around the rubber ends of metal hand holds... so maybe I can sort them myself ?

If you plan on leaving the bath in then look for a company like Ray has suggested. I have no experience with the DIY options available
