Hey all,

my name is Tiho and I'm 34, from Brisbane.
Married, cat owner, professional programmer, but want to get into working with wood a bit. I do have a need for it at the moment, as I want to create a hang on bed for my cat, something like this:

https://www.catcetera.nl/en/wohood-woozy-design-cat-bed.html

What's the best forum to ask this specific question on what kind of material is advised, plus the tools. I don't mind investing a little bit, but I want to be able to make it cheaper than 130Euros :D

Thanks in advance! ;)

Welcome

As for a forum suggestion - just dive right into General (http://www.woodworkforums.com/f11)and talk there. Be ready to answer things like how you're going to do the "hooks" given you likely won't be doing metalwork :)

You don't have to spend much.....I built this for my wife's cat and I purchased a lot of materials from Reverse Garbage at Woolloongabba and also used parts of pallets.
