Hi, I normally clean and re finish solid wood but this is a veneer I would like to do well. I believe English oak. I was thinking to try stripping by using a scraper. Cleaning would be using metholated spirits. Finishing would be pale BLO and then satin rub on polyurethane.

I also have to learn how to make repairs to the lifted and missing veneer.

Progressed with the scraping, sanding and cleaning. Trying my first veneer repair being glue and then pressure :)

Decided it was time to use some high gloss Estapol up so started doing this top before I put the final pieces of veneer on. Last step will be cleaning and matching the lower section brown stain. This will hopefully sell quickly to someone in a small house occasionally needing a table.
