After some advice/guidance at the back of my home is one of those glass sliding doors with the aluminium frame.
It's not something that I like nor want to repair.
The opening is approx 1800mm wide by 2000mm high, width about 120-150mm.
My question is what types of timber would be most suited to make a new frame and also for the door.
It opens onto the screened room which is fully covered.
What I am planning is to have two solid doors plus two screen doors.

I think good frames used to be commonly made from WRC with merbu or kwilla sills, but I guess these days painted frames might be made from some sort of finger jointed treated pine.

If it is going to be paint finish just get the blue primed finger jointed pine jamb from the green shed, they have it single and double rebated if you plan on fitting a screen door.
If you plan on fitting a sill they will have some merbau to do the job but often a sill is not fitted
