View Full Version : Woodworm Treatment?

I recently acquired an old wall clock with the idea of restoring it.
On close inspection, I noticed worm holes in the wooden case.
I have not seen any fine wood dust to indicate that worms are active.
Could someone recommend a product I could inject in the holes to ensure that there are no live worms left?
I don't believe that painting a product on the surface would be suitable as the case is ebonized inside and out.

Thanks Yvan

Freezing for a week or two kills just about everything woodwormy.

It worked for me with a wooden plane. I dont think there was anything active as most woodworm beetles are not found here but it feels good to be sure there is nothing munching away in there. It may be best to remove the mechanism as I don't know how it will take to being frozen. Perhaps some of the clock guys would know.
