Hi, long time no see :)

Got a small problem.
My son's staying at a mates house while his mates grandma is away...we've all seen the Add
they've dropped a single drop of acetone on what I suspect is a modern two pac "oak" table. eaten a perfectly round spot about 1/2 cm into the finish right down to the bare timber judging from the photo he sent me.

Can this be "invisiably" patched? I never worked repairing modern finishes.

With out knowing exactly what the finish is it is impossible to suggest a solution, most types of finish will require the top to be sanded down and the entire top to to be re sprayed

Sometimes, and I stress SOMETIMES you can repair a finish using lacquer sticks Lacquer Sticks - Lee Valley Tools (http://www.leevalley.com/en/Wood/page.aspx?p=20071&cat=1,190,42997,42999)
BUT in inexperienced hands, it could all go pear shaped very quickly
