Hi,
I am currently renovating our master bedroom. I have pulled up the carpet and am about to lay floating floor.
The instructions are that you have to leave about a 10 mm gap from any walls etc.

In the picture you can see where i have the concrete meeting the tiles in the ensuite. There is a metal bar in between.

I am trying to work out what I need to use to cover this gap. I can see some things at bunnings, that I think I am supposed to use, but don't understand how they work and what holds them down
eg https://www.bunnings.com.au/roberts-1-65m-silver-senior-ramp-floating-floor-trim_p6827903
This one looks like the middle channel should be clipping on to something?

or should i be using something like this
https://www.bunnings.com.au/roberts-1-65m-x-14mm-bronze-floating-floor-perimeter-trim_p6827961

Please help, before I do something very wrong...

The metal bar is a tilers edge.
Are you running the boards horizontal with the door.
Or at 90 degrees to the door.
The boards generally expand and contract across there width more than there length.
Is my understanding but I’m not expert with them.

The metal bar is a tilers edge.

and it is secured under the tiles so it cannot be removed without destroying the tiles.

This should work if the dimensions work out.

The second one is the one to use, you will see it in the flooring section at Bunnnings, fix it down to the existing floor as the floors tend to lift/ float at openings and leave the expansion gap within the chanel lip.

Use this one and stick it down to the floor and abutting edge to the tile angle with Sikaflex, wait 24hrs before you fit flooring into it leaving the recommended gap inside the channel

Thanks for all the feedback. I had pretty much decided to go with the second one (the trim), but then i took another look at the tilers edge and the height. From the concrete slab to the top of the tilers edge is only about 10mm, however, the trim is 15 mm, so that would sit 5mm above the tiles, giving quite a lip.

I found this post on another forum, where they use the Ramp Trim and magic plugs.
https://www.workshop.com.au/t5/Whole-of-House/Tile-to-laminate-transition-hidden-attachment-of-transition/td-p/19866
I am thinking this is what I have to do. Not that keen on drilling 50mm holes into my slab though. If anyone has experience of these Roberts Trims and Magic Plugs (the plugs are mentioned under the product description of this link)
https://www.bunnings.com.au/roberts-1-65m-silver-senior-ramp-floating-floor-trim_p6827903

I have read other forums that say to just caulk the gap, but I don't see how that would allow expansion and would probably look ugly.

The way I will be laying the boards, the end will be against the tilers strip, for this entry, but I have another entry where the boards will need to lay next to the strip. (this in response to the first post)
