Hello my name is Lee, I'm an electrician in mining at the moment. As a boy I always enjoyed working with my old man on various projects, he was a jack of all trades, clever at what ever he laid his hands on. His influence I think was drawn from his father in his childhood who was a carpenter from Woolongong, but built a few structures around Mungindi. Anyway I was spoilt, if I wanted a bird aviary the old man built me one. Now I'm a dad and I have built a few bits of furniture over the years for my boys, first one with help from the old man. But I have always had a very limited set up, hand held circular saw and router is about all I got.
Anyway after the last table and shelves I built for the boys Lego room I said "that's it!, I'm not building any more until I'm better set up", wasn't happy with the end result!
This won't happen for a while because eventually we will move, hopefully to the Gold Coast, when the local housing market bumps up a little. Meanwhile I have plenty of time to sit back and dream, think about what type of woodwork I really want to get into. Think about what sort of machinery I need to invest in.
Hence what brings us here to this forum, to learn from the experience of others.:U
