Taking this opportunity to get my extended family up to speed, my fellow woodie.

Raechell and I have decided to call it a day.

Most dont realise that we have been seperated for over 3 years already and although we have tried to work on things we have come to the point where we mutually agree it is better to part as friends.

We are still good friends and will support each other particularly in relation to the kids and hope to maintain our mutual friendships.

There is no malice or ill feelings. That said it has been a hard decision to come to. We wish we'd been able to maintain things as when we first met but that did not happen.

Ultimately we will have the kids 50/50

Sad to hear, but glad to hear it is a mutual decision.
In these times it is certainly not uncommon.
If you need support do not be afraid to ask. Sometimes you just need to be able to talk to someone to get things off your chest. (I think this is why Mens Sheds were originally set up.)

Sad to hear. The best thing is that you can both still work together for the benefit of your kids. So many marriages / de-facto relationships end up as massive train wrecks these days and everybody loses out, well maybe not the lawyers.

Our daughter is currently dealing with the fallout from her friends breakup, a female couple with kids and its getting horrible. Both are her friends so no doubt one or the other soon won't be (or perhaps both???) as both are seeking her counsel / mediation - a no win situation for her.

Not good Dave and I feel for you, Rach and the children after having been through a long hard road.

Maybe as as friends as you support the children circumstances will change for the better.

Cheers Peter

Only just stumbled on this Dave. As you say, it has been a long time in the making and obviously you have both worked through it well with as good an outcome as one could hope for.
I hope things look up for both of you in the near future as you are both great people and trust your friendship stays in tact for both yourselves and the kids.
