Hi Guys,
Have been out of the game for 25 years and a few noticeable things have changed.
I am gobsmacked to be honest. My latest gripe is over an oil based stain I purchased from that
hardware store where the stain colour is mixed for you. This should of set the alarm bells going.
It was like water though oil based with very little colour. Absolute garbage.
I remember purchasing stain back in the day in a 1 litre or 4 litre paint can type of container which
was oil based and if you did not mix it you would have a clunk of thick stain sitting on the bottom. The
more you applied the darker the colour would get. Can not remember if this was a filler based stain. There
used to be a paint shop near Highpoint
Just purchased some Haynes which is much better.
Is there any other stain recommendations preferably oil based that is thick in consistency? Not interested
in spirit based stain due to the speed this stuff can stain your wood.
Thanks in Advance.
