HI all, I built a couple of chopping boards / cheese boards, would it be ok to use carnauba wax on them.

I asked about this the other day.

Organoil make a product called "Wood Wipe" in a black bottle. Bunnies has it.

I got some. Smells good. Seems good gear.

Maybe that doesn't really answer your question:D

I have some which I bought when I goit the BMW, Very old BMW mind you.
Coconut based isn't it :confused:
could go coconut Oil :D
They seem to swear by it.

Yes, it's OK to use. It's foodsafe, if that's what you want to know.

I wouldn't recommend it though, it is only a wax after all and won't provide any enduring protection. An oil, on the other hand, penetrates into the wood...

I got the Carnauba Wax from the woodworking show a couple of years ago and the guy that sold it to me said it was ok to use for cheese boards ect, when I opened the packet it really stunk so I wasn’t sure to use it or not. Maybe I’ll try a little oil, I heard orange oil is ok.
