Nervous Secret Service Agent

Donald is walking out of the White House and heading toward his limo, when a possible assassin steps forward and aims a gun.
A secret service agent, new on the job, shouts, “Mickey Mouse!”
This startles the would be assassin and he is captured.
Later, the secret service agent’s supervisor takes him aside and asks, “What in the world made you shout Mickey Mouse?”

Blushing, the agent replies, “I got nervous. I meant to shout, “Donald duck!”

I could picture that in my mind, Mickey mouse is probably smarter than Donald anyway.

Huh. So I've had it backwards... I always thought "Donald trumps a Mickey."

Actually it's worse than imagined.

Police get a report "Man with a gun".
Police arrive fully prepared, guns at the ready.
In the mean time, a good guy with a gun has taken out the man with a gun.
Who are the police going to shoot at?

The first police to arrive happen to be plain clothes detectives.
Who does the teacher shoot at? Who do the plain clothes detectives shoot at?

The world is not a John Wayne or Clint Eastwood flick. The implications are just too many to even think about.

I've come to the conclusion that all that is necessary to be president is money, charisma and an IQ greater than single digits.

What that High???? I thought it was a good looking wife/woman!!!

One of the ways to help control the situation over there, is similar to what has happened over here, and that is to take away semi and fully automatic weapons from EVERYONE. Unfortunately the NRA, Gun Manufacturers and the Constitution won't allow that to happen.
Presidents seem to be a "puppet" for those that have money and power.

If they did give teachers guns and the assailant shoots the teacher (knowing that will be their first priority target, students secound) first and kills them who is going to protect the students then?
Unfortunately politicians are the result of voters not being critical of their analysis of who they are voting for.
Given that the likely number of firearms is equal to their population and very obvious under cover sales of firearms and lax record keeping how would you know who to take them off?

It appears that there was an armed guard at the school but he decided not to intervene. He has since resigned.

The real problem is two fold:
1 ~ We have the best government that money can buy.
2 ~ Jefferson wanted to make the First amendment bi-directional. Right now the government cannot mess with the church but the church can, and does, really eff up government.

Most of the "solutions" are proposed by people who don't know what it feels like to be a target.

What's the betting that, instead of the solution being demanded by the targets (ie. students & some educational authorities wanting bans on miltary firearms, etc.) the chosen solution will somehow involve more guns being introduced to the mix?

Interesting how an original post can bring all sorts of feelings and comments.

I wish I could hear more of this common sense talk coming from the US. Perhaps I should move Down Under where it seems people have more sense!

And they thought John Howard's reaction after Port Arthur was crazy.

What the victims want, time after time, appears to be at odds with what the leader calls for, but then he wants votes from the NRA.

Yes, maybe Donald should Duck.
