I've just started work in Port Macquarie and the company newsletter want to do a profile on me and one of the questions is "If you could invite four people to dinner who would they be and why"
Can you guys inspire me with your choices?

I was thinking Buddha, Jesus, Mohammed and Jehovah to see who won the fight, but don't think I can put that in the newsletter.

My 2 grandfathers (that would interesting in itself, wished I'd been at my parents' wedding  1 was a 5'4" man of Scottish descent extremely conservative career military turned building trades, breaking bread across from a 6'2" Fijian/Scots trade unionist), and Granma & Nan to keep their stories somewhat believeable. Spent alot of time with them as a kid, & bugga all as an adult :(

Fellas, this is a woodies' forum!
So, here goes:-
Norm Abrams - to talk about electron-burning gear.
James Krenov - to talk about design, material selection and detailed fine woodworking.
Thomas Lie-Nielsen - to talk about how you make fine metal hand tools.
Terry Gordon - to give us the good oil on wooden hand tools.
We're limited to four - otherwise I'd also invite Rob Lee and his dad to talk about re-designing hand tools for the modern era.
How does that grab you?

God. Find out who got it right, straight from the horses mouth. ;)

My mate John because he moved to NZ a few years ago and I miss him.
My mate Andrew because he was a surrogate husband to my missus for the first few days when our daughter was in hospital in Sydney.
My mate Dave because he's just a happy go lucky goofball despite what he does for a living.
My mate Larry because he's a damn nice guy and funny as well.
There's a few more but getting those four together in the same room is a crack and it hasn't happened for too long a time.

HH Namtrak has it right , they want to form a profile on you answer accordingly
But as a general question i'de stay away from dead ones , imagine if they came as they are now , little piles of dust and some bones ,
And those that can't speak aussi english. Ben larden etc.
Pick someone that could bring some good wine (Sir James Hardie perhaps)
Someone that can cook to bring desert (Neil Perry or the like)
Someone to talk to (a Good mate )
Someone to Look at ( Not Dame Edna , more Jennifer Lopez )
The trouble with life is there's no background music.
