Suggestions oh how to store large painted yard garden ornaments

Christmas decorations coming down very soon.

I need a way to store my large painted yard ornaments.

The paint seems to stick to everything.
With weather changes expanding and contracting the paint.

So no matter what touches the paint, the paint will come off when removed.

Thinking of eye hooks and hanging from rope from the top
and strapping down with eye hooks and from from the bottom.
But a lot of trouble.

Any suggestions?

Nevermind. just wrapped them in tarp separating them from each other.

Did not enjoy that at all.
