I'm about to do a retaining wall around the end of my pool yard. The level is higher in pool yard and then slops down to the granny flat. I'm hiring a dingo to dig the lower level out and smooth so that its level.
Was wondering what would be the easiest retaining wall materials to use .
Cheap easy and not too heavy.
Should I use ag pipe at the base with blue metal.
I haven't done this before and could use a kickstart pointer and some tips in the right direction.

Thats handy, I don't know if its absolutely spot on, however from when I read it, it sounded right!

I would recommend the interlocking retaining wall, its pretty simple to do, quick and you can do it your self.

How high is the retaining walll going to be?

Ag pipe is only truely needed in water logged soils/clays so that the weight of the water doesn't push the wall out of place, however ag pip doesn't cost much and it would give peice of mind installing it regardless behind the retaining wall and having an exit away from the wall.

forgot to mention about the ag pipe, if you have free draining soils all the way from the top of the soil to the bottom on the retaining wall and you don't want to install ag pipe you will have to put weep holes in (ie, don't grout the side space between a brick every few brights (ie, last one I found with weep holes has them every ten bricks!)

Old car tyres. Our local tip charges $3 each to accept them, so it's amazing how easy to get a truck load free of charge.
