Kerosine also spelled Kerosene, also called Paraffin, Paraffin Oil, or Coal Oil, flammable pale-yellow or colourless oily liquid with a not unpleasant, characteristic odour. It is obtained from petroleum and used for burning in lamps and domestic heaters or furnaces, as a fuel or fuel component for jet engines, and as a solvent for greases and insecticides.

Try Ace Chemicals:-

Ace Chemical Co. (119a Mooringe Avenue, Camden Park, phone 8376 0844)

Dont know if they have it for sure but they do have quite a wide range.

If you're just after straight petroleum oil with no odour - grab some of yates 'white oil' spray for the garden. No other chemicals in this - I use it to swipe my plane soles on.

I know I was a bit cryptic above, but isn't Paraffin Oil and Kerosine one and the same?
There are a couple of threads about this very topic floating round here somewhere/

Midge,

I assumed he was talking about a food safe oil as in the link below.

Paraffin oil is a medicinal oil from pharmacy or supermarket.
Paraffin is a foreign name for kerosine.

Your friendly local Vet will have some too. They give it to animals that are having problems with backing one out, so to speak. Laying a cable. Popping a Knob.:D

cheers Tassie , more than adequately described , unless your gonna add a few grunting gnuuurg type noises !

Fortunately the new dog seems to have "ample" cable expulsion lubricant as he lays a lot more cable than Telstra most days !:o

Barry,

I get mine from a chemist. Incidently, apparently they used to prescribe this stuff as a laxative.

Regards,
Mike.

My poor ol' mutt had a bowel obstruction (too much dog sausage with ground bones) AND an enlarged prostrate. Took a day or two to clear. Sounded like a Brahman bull. Poor buggar.
