I am replacing an existing entrance door with a solid timber door.

The new door is roughly 30kg.

I am slightly worried that the existing door frame won't hold the weight, as it looks poorly constructed.

Is 30kg too heavy for a door, or that is the standard for 2 hinges.

If your concerned add extra hinges, we always put 3 hinges on an external door and 30 kg would be no problem

If the jamb is only 20mm thick less 1.5mm to 2.0mm for hinge flap only leaves 18mm and if you are using the old style countersunk screw with blank shank then almost next to nothing in holding power of the screws.
best option is to use 50mm or 75mm long thread screws that will also grip the stud, works a treat.
