Dad's birthday is coming up and I'd like to get him the camera bag that he wants but can't find ANYWHERE (and there are dozens of almost right bags in the cupboard to prove it), so it'll need to be custom made.

If anyone knows of someone in Melbourne who is able to do this please let me know.

I'm going to make one for myself soon, but it is likely to take some time. What do have in mind ?

This is his current favourite: https://www.thinktankphoto.com/collections/retrospective-series/products/retrospective-5

Looking for something similar to that but with:

A top flap that opens the other way (away from the body when carrying on the shoulder)
A fold out pocket at the front for lens swapping
Tripod holing straps underneath
Side pockets of a more useful size
Loops on the outside of said pockets to hold additional pouches

Probably a few other bits as well that I don't know about
The Lowepro Offroad was one of his old favourites Lowepro OffRoad (http://www.taschenfreak.de/TASCHEN/LP/OffRoad/lp_offroad_03_frankbuehler.htm)
Ditto the Tenba P750

His main camera is a Sony a7, lenses vary depending on what he's doing (dozens to choose from), a pocket RX100 often comes along as well. iPad storage would also be handy

If making one from scratch becomes prohibitively expensive, there are several he has that could probably be modified to suit.

I think I understand the kind of thing you are after. Unfortunately not something I think I can help you with in the short term.

As an aside, an alternative to the flap thing, a lot of bags now have an access zipper in the flap that goes directly into the bag for easier access while you are wearing it.
