Hi guys.

I spent the weekend making a coffee table out of fence pailings (picture attached) and I'm torn between giving it an oil finish or a Matt lacquer finish.

Any thoughts, given its a coffee table that will have things placed on top of it? https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170515/cb7d18dcced674398617a211d88b85a7.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170515/96e7b0f4e239b9c8cb62b9925ff48271.jpg

Thanks.

Oil based satin polyurethane. Tough and long lasting.

I like the look of the table and I think that a matt finish would maintain it character. I am thinking that a poly based finish would be best.

LGS's hard burnishing oil finish for the top?

for the legs and aprons, a wipe-on poly

Hi guys. I went with a wipe on poly. Has come up really nice I think. Third coat going on tomorrow. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170516/14fe334410d10fc02674dacc19d5e980.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170516/27894c82b5d82d32fd7f15a4e038cca4.jpg
