Paint removal

A guy I work with was looking at acquiring the door in the attached photo but he is concerned about how to remove the paint that was obviously put on to indicate it was faulty.
Can anyone tell me what is the best way to remove the paint that would make it suitable to put a clear coating on afterwards.

I would think that the only way to remove the paint will be chemical (Paint stripper). That door would be veneered! So NO sanding. Frame as well as panels would have veneer over partical board. There will be 2 solid but finger jointed pieces on the long sides to accept hinges and lock

It might be a solid door. There is a colour difference in the rails, possibly why it was defected.
depending on what the yellow paint is (it looks like line marker) it might just wash off if the door has a decent finish.

Sorry I can't provide any more details on the construction of the door nor any finish that might exist to help with the possible options. I will see if he has any more details tomorrow and update if possible.

If there was a finish on the door then may look at turps to remove the paint. If there was no finish then paint stripper a little at a time.

I have had a talk with the guy this morning and he has decided to forgo the door as there are too many unknowns for him. Thanks all for your input.
