Hi, I'm Daniel and i live in Horsham VIC.
I am new to woodworking and wood turning. My Pa was a woodturner from Portland, he did teach me a few things when i was very young but he had to stop woodturning due to health reasons before i was old enough to appreciate the beauty of what he made.

I am fortunate to work as a farm hand on a olive grove just out of Horsham so i have a good supply of olive wood at my disposal. my boss has told me that anything i make out of olive wood (cheese boards, knives and pens) i can sell at the farm shop.

so i hope by joining the forum i can and talking to experienced turners i can start making some beautiful peaces and one day teach my kids.

Thanks.

Welcome to the forum. I love using olive wood for turning, just don't get much of it when I was in Sydney.
