I don't think it is just me....

When I try to type a series of capitals some do appear as typed when posted while others leave the initial capital and lowercase the rest. Does not appear to make any difference if spaces or full stops are placed between the letters.

Makes no difference when using iPad or Mac desktop.

Browser is Safari, latest version on both.

Could someone do a Pauline i.e. Please Explain.

Forum software, I've seen it happen on other forums too.

I see this exactly as typed - what do your see?
THIS LINE WAS INITIALLY TYPED ALL WITH CAPITALS
EVERY second WORD of THIS line WAS typed AS capitals.
EVERY THIRD word OF THIS line WAS TYPED as CAPITALS.
EVERY FOURTH WORD of THIS LINE WAS typed AS CAPITALS.
EVERY FIFTH WORD OF this LINE WAS TYPED AS Capitals.
EVERY WORD EXCEPT one IN THIS LINE WAS TYPED AS CAPITALS.

I see exactly what I type but when actually posted the "de capitalisation " happens.

I go to edit, do it again, post, same result. However, when posting again only minutes later it all worked WYSIWYG.

Totally inconsistent results.

If I type FNQ & hit preview, it changes to Fnq

If I type FNQ FNQ it changes to Fnq fnq

If I copy & paste BobLs post to it, it doesn't change.

When I send a PM the spaces I type between words do not appear. So weird - and annoying. I now type into Notepad and copy'n'paste it.

I've only noticed this happening since I upgraded to Windows 10

Please do not shout (type all caps), in the forums, it is not necessary and dangerously raises your blood pressure. (No offense intended, just throwing something around.)

Something is going on, haven't had an issue with spacing between words before but after Jane's comment, when I type the first sentence above, the space bar might as well have not been there while typing, but when I went back and fixed it on the fly it worked every time. Win 7 Ultimate and latest version Opera. I think this might be a style sheet formating thing or similar.

Haven't had a chance to try the all caps issue as yet.

Agreed, was not trying to shout or type all in capitals. I'm referring to trying to type "official or recognised" capitals eg QANTAS or the Roman legion SPQR ( I can see the capitals as typed but how they appear when posted is anyone's guess ~ it will probably work now and continue to make me look foolish). :B

The missing spaces has been reported on other forums as well.

So Windows 10 makes people more observant? :D

Janehi Jane

I've been running Win10 since the second half of 2015 and this no space thing has really only appeared in the last two or three months.

I find it's intermittent, and goes away with the first carriage return.
For me it's just a bit annoying to have to go back and add spaces to the line I've just typed.

Been using Windows 10 for well over a year. I don't us Explorer or Microsoft Edge although Edge brags that it is better and faster than Firefox and Chrome.

I use both Chrome and Firefox depending on which computer I am using.

To date I have never had a problem with this.

THIS LINE IS ALL CAPS.
THIS LINE IS ALL CAPS AND BOLD.

Your software may be trying to stop you from inadvertently shouting (using all caps). You cannot post the title of a thread using all caps, the vBulletin software automatically changes it to lowercase.

Maybe try using a different browser and see what happens

Cheers - Neil :U

PS I have tried to duplicate the problem but can't. I only have Windows 10 on all my computers now so can't try it in older versions. But I did a number of tests to try and reproduce the problem using MS Edge, Chrome, Firefox and Opera and had no problems, other than my own stupid typo's.

I ALSO PREVIEWED THIS POST BEFORE POSTING IT AND NOTHING CHANGED <--- Oh, that last sentence was also all caps.

Got me beat??? :dunno:

Got me beat also.

It seems to be random, sometimes it does and sometimes it doesn't. The pix in post 4, the posts were 12 minutes apart, first post was typed and changed when posted, edited, posted again with the same result. Second post was no problem as it posted exactly as typed.

Perhaps a "Mac" thing or Safari, not had any problems since 2005 but will try another browser when I can.

Thanks for the response.

Notjust a Mac &/or Safari thing, I'm using Win 7 & FF & I get varying results.
