Need help/advice from fellow woodworkers to sort out delivery of the thicknesser. I am looking to buy a used thicknesser in Adelaide (that is listed in the Market place). The problem is that the thicknesser is not packed and not on a pallet, and the seller is not able to prepare it for shipping himself. So I see three possible solutions:
1) Is there a company that can come to the seller's place, pack the thicknesser and strap it to the pallet;
2) Same as 1, and in addition maybe deliver to the freight company in Adelaide (if they don't just do packing);
3) Is there a forum member that will be willing to help me with packing thicknesser and strapping on a pallet - I am happy to pay for this.
I found one freight company that can collect unpacked item and bring it from Adelaide to Canberra, but they want an arm and a leg.
Any useful information is highly appreciated.

Also interested in hearing whether there is anyone that can pick up smallish bits of machinery and pallet them up. I've been looking for a Waldown drill press in Perth for ages but they're like hens teeth over here compared to over east.

Have you tried Dougies Freight? He specialised in back loading. He does a trip once a month from Adelaide to the East Coast as far as Bribane. I think he goes to WA every three months. I have used him twice to deliver furniture pieces to Brisbane. He's on facebook as Doug's Freight

Nope, Doug told me it is to heavy for them to move. (I am surprised, it seems that they move cars too)

Not sure if this is still a possibility, but I am happy to offer some help.
I think strapping to a pallet may be a bit much on my own, but with some help may be able to do something.
If I needed to get a strapping machine I may be able to borrow one but not until after the 9th Jan.
Would definitely need an assistant or two!

Hi Bauldy,
Thank you very much for your offer!!! Currently the sale is suspended due to the seller. I will send you a PM if the deal is going on - probably some time next week.

Thanks everyone who contributed to the thread and offered help! The seller did not honour the agreement that we came to, maybe someone offered him more and he said that he did not want to sell the thicknesser to me anymore.
