Just think if you were in Torbay tonight you could be press ganged and go voyaging for awhile.
They are also advertising vacancies for sailors. Most probably experienced females preferred. :D

Another view of the sailing ships from our road.
Try and get one tomorrow at noon with the start of the race I think there should be at least nine tall ships sailing.
Going to Spain and back due the 17th Sept.

Not sure if this is the same event, but someone at the Wodonga weekend I attended on the weekend mentioned that they burnt a replica of the Bounty for charity. Did you hear of this?
Apparently it wasnt just a roughly made tall ship either, but quite an accurate replica too ... seems a waste of good timber.
and im not sure exactly how money is raised by burning a ship either

There have been a number of replica sailing ships built and burnt recently but IMHO they are more like stage furniture type constructions.
However they have been full size, which means a lot of timber and materials must have been spent.
Some people just like fires!!!!!!!
As regards the tall ships race which started last Saturday it was a disaster regarding photographs, we had a SE force 4/5 come in with a thick haze which did not clear until 2 hours after the race started.
So I stayed in my workshop and spent upto 12 hours trying to cut 8 mitre joints for a jewellery box. The box started out tobe 9 x 5" then got down to 7 x 5" and eventurally finished up as a box for me to store nails.
C.I. table saws are not always accurate :(

Thats how I make boxes too.
