I'm just beginning to get the hang of lacquer spraying. As I make adjustments to my gun I notice one time I get a fairly thick glossy finish which is what I'm looking for. Another layer and I feel a slightly rougher dryer look. I just want to be sure this will buff out at the end along with the other layers.

Depends upon the lacquer system you are using, the gun, settings etc, but the rougher dryer look is because the lacquer is drying as it hits the surface, you are putting on a dry coat, not a wet coat, or are to far away from the surface with the spray gun, or the atomization is creating too small droplets.

I use Nitro Cellulose lacquer which "dissolves" into the previous coat, so minor issues can be blended out.

btw I'm no exert.
