The Grand Final is on Sunday! Saturday is of no consequence.
The Melbourne team is even in it and they do not get it.
I normally barrack for the Broncos but this week its the battle of the Origin Captains, Go Queensland, go Cameron Smith, Cooper Cronk, Go the Storm. :2tsup:
Cheers
Doug
EDIT: Evidently Western Australians do not get it either

Saturday should be a national holiday. Sunday is just the day after.

The Grand Final Series is in Bathurst on the 8th of October Doug.....And it should have still been this weekend, even still have a public holiday to celebrate the race.....
On the Saturday game....Go Sydney, oh me, oh my, I can't believe I said that as a Queenslander....
On the Sunday game....I don't want the Sydney team to win but I can't for the life of me barrack for a Melbourne team as a Queenslander.....
Oh well, That's it for me stirring up the pot....Cheers, crowie

Yes, you're correct Doug, BUT Bathurst has always been the crown for any driver.....
It'll be a little more interesting when the series is changed to "Supercars" as Ford Vs Holden V8's are pretty well gone.....
Hopefully Channel 10 will start becoming "Fan Friendly" and telecasting all the races again like Channel 7 did.....
Apologies for off the football topic but these days couldn't give a hoot about any football code....

That's understandable, Personally I follow the State of origin much closer than the home NRL club competition.
When you and i were growing up in Brisbane's northern suburbs, you may recall that all the good footy players at school wanted to grow up and play for Norths. Nowadays, all the good footballers just want to make it to the draft and play for whoever will have them and pay them.
The last bastion of high level sport which actually means anything - IE people playing for something other than money, and selected by ability and eligibility to represent a certain group is Origin. Everything else, unless I have missed something is all money-driven.
But either way, AFL is just entertainment while NRL is sport

I thought they moved it because too many people were dying on the way home, quite a few people are off their heads for three days and don't sleep until they get behind the wheel on the trip home.

Then just support the State of Origin Captain of your choice and hope his team wins

For some of us none of this is any consequence.

Chasing a bag of wind around a field is of no interest to me either.

I thought the football season finished at the end of August as there were no games the following weekend.
As a Victorian, I hope a Victorian wins. South Melbourne, Footscray, Melbourne, Ford, Holden - all Victorian.

NRL is sportto quote Debbie Spillan AKA "head of rust" it's just run and wrestle
none of you have seen passion till you've sat in a stadium watching a Canadian team play hockey

Yes Footscray just seem to have an edge over the Sydney especially in last half of the last quarter....
PS - You can't equate the athleticism of AFL with the brute strong of league....so much more entertaining AFL!!

All that needs to happen to beat that is for Cronulla to lose. Who are they playing again?
Seriously though that was good entertainment today.
