Greetings, from NSW!.:ausflag:

Thought I'd pop in and introduce myself and say hello. :)

I know absolutely nothing about woodworking or metal working... though I did enjoy those classes in School many years ago. Even though I currently know nothing, there's certain aspects that interest me (Restoration, renovation & making.). I often find myself watching youtube videos of woodworking (woodworking for mere mortals & matthias wandel) & metalworking , and find it rather interesting.

At this stage, I'm looking at getting into blade sharpening (axes/knives etc..), mainly as a hobby, which would be my 1st stop on these here forums :2tsup:(though do not know where I should go.. metal working section ??)

Looking forward to all the forums have to offer :)

Welcome to the forum.

There is a sister site dedicated to metal work you can access it from this site but will need to register as you did with this site.

The tools you are describing are hand tools and there is a sub-section on hand tools unpowered or you can look in sharpening sub-section.

G'Day & Welcome to a top forum "Widget".
There are a stack members across the Sydney area, across NSW plus the rest of the country & world.....
You'll find a heap of helpful & knowledgeable blokes & ladies on the forum and for most very willing to assist.
Make sure you show off your handiwork as everyone loves a photo, especially WIP [Work In Progress] photos with build notes.
Enjoy the forum.
Enjoy your woodwork......
Cheers crowie

PS -

Keep an eye out for a get together at Katoomba for the Sydney area forum members....great way to met & make friends.
