HI all, my name is Don. I'm a retired fire department captain/paramedic who now uses woodworking, RV traveling and tending to our 3 Dachshunds to pass the time. I primarily build furniture pieces, but was recently sidetracked to build several photo frames for my wife. My next projects include a side table, pirate style chest and an oriental inspired jewelry box. I'm looking forward to sharing what knowledge I've gained and learning from other members of the group.

Welcome Capn Don! The Arizona Desert must be an interesting place to live with all those cacti etc.

In my state of Queensland the farmers have been protesting about laws to crack-down on tree clearing by our state government. The landholders have been clearing this country for over 200 years now, but want to clear more and more. We have been having increasing and extended drought periods which have affected their livelihoods. I am no scientist, but to me clearing more trees will cause less rainfall and increase the chances of turning the land into a desert as well.

You'll find a heap of helpful & knowledgeable blokes & ladies on the forum and for most very willing to assist.
Make sure you show off your handiwork as everyone loves a photo, especially WIP [Work In Progress] photos with build notes.
Enjoy the forum.
Enjoy your woodwork.....
