In the states you can by "ventilating storm doors" which have a sliding glass panel and insect screen built in. When you want to close the screen you simply slide the glass panel down and the door is sealed and weathertight. I really like the idea, since it would mean I wouldn't have to install a second screen door just so that I could have a bit of ventilation. I'd like to use them on all the exterior doors in our family home we're designing. The yanks seem to typically use these in addition to a standard exterior door, but given the fact that they are weatherproof I see no no reason why you couldnt use just the storm door and nothing else (especially in this mild subtropical climate we have here).
