I just laid down a couple of hobbies and picked up the woodcarving and pyrography hobbies. This forum seems to have everything about wood covered. I’m very happy to hang around and hopefully learn from you folks.

G'Day & Welcome to the Great Southern Land and to a top forum "John".
There are quite a few members Texas, across the USA, Canada and the rest of the world.....
You'll find a heap of helpful & knowledgeable blokes & ladies on the forum and for most very willing to assist.
Make sure you show off your handiwork as everyone loves a photo, especially WIP [Work In Progress] photos with build notes.
Enjoy the forum.
Enjoy your woodwork..
Cheers from On Top DownUnder, crowie

Thanks for the welcome, folks. Being very green I’m not sure yet where I fit in around here. Long story short, someone stole my photography gear then someone asked me to make a dart holder to which I added his college logos. Later another dart holder for my son was embellished with a little fish and turtle. Somehow I then became interested in making these little shelf sized fresh water habitats. I have no idea if such is even allowed in the carving forum as I strictly use power carving tools and do not even own a real set of hand carving tools.
