Hello all ,

Ok my problem is this .
I have a plantation shutter that has been exposed to water . The vertical end piece has sucked up some water and the wood has gone soft . The construction would appear to be pine with a hard vinyl outer covering ( except for the end where it is exposed pine of course :( )

I have dug out the soft pine and treated it with "Earl's Wood Hardener"

So now I have this hollow section about 5cm x 2cm and about 6cm deep. Its getting close to where the hinges screw in on the side, so I'm thinking is there some sort of epoxy liquid I can pour into the void to fill up ?

I don't want something that is going to expand too (if at all ) as I don't want it to damage the vinyl shell .

Or would that be just too simple ?
