Bi-fold door in rebated jam ?

Hi All

I need to fit a 720 bi-fold door. ( DIY)
All the instructions say flat jam, but the 12x16 mm strips they supply look crappy.
Can I fit bi-fold into a rebated jam ? I've done all the rest of the doors in rebated jams.
