Hey all, Just thought i'd start a new thread to say hi.
I'm from sydney, I just finished building a new house and I (predictably) now have a thousand projects to do. Being a bit of a noob when it comes to timber, I've been looking through various websites for ideas and advice and this one keeps popping up so I thought it would be worth dropping by to say hello and thanks for all the hard work answering questions. Not everyone makes an account to ask a question, so the amount of help that a good forum gives out can be underestimated by the posters, so again, thanks for your time.
In the near future I have a master plan to make things for my house as I go along. Im a bit of a greenie, so I like to use second hand materials to reuse and upcycle, and to do things for myself. Some of the things I plan on doing include:

Finishing a wall hanger for a kraft paper roll (along these lines http://devilandegg.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/P1270811-450x600.jpg)
Burnishing a couple of chunks of Huon pine
finding some reclaimed timber to make a set of curved shelves for a corner nook
making a table for the study out of reclaimed timber and box steel
another wooden balance bike (Ill post up a thread about my first attempt soon)
Copper coffee pourover holder as a gift for a coffee mad friend (for a v60. They are a great way to make coffee http://assets-s3.mensjournal.com/img/essential/killer-joe-best-pour-over/298_398_killer-joe-best-pour-over.jpg)

I'm also a keen motorcycle rider...

Welcome to the forum.

I also like to make things from recycle material. Sometimes it can be a little hard to come by so patience is required.

Thanks all for the welcome.
Camden is close to me, but unfortunately the in laws are coming to visit so I'll be missing out.
