There have been long and in depth discussions regarding the number of miles our food travels between grower an consumer, which in some cases can be a staggering amount.

Need some disposable razors the other day and picked some up from Aldi. On reading the back I was more than surprised with regards the process between manufacturer and me, the consumer. Astounding.

Blades made in USA
Assembled in Mexico
Packed in China.

Apologies for the pix being sideways, is not located this way in my file.

That's only the half of it.

The raw materials for the steel probably came from Australia.
The Steel was probably made in China
The oil for the plastic for the packaging probably came from the Middle east

Just so!!

Tell me how it makes sense for bottled water to be brought to Aus. from France, Italy, Norway and many other places.

I wonder if the world will ever rue the wastage of fuel, and thereby the threat to the atmosphere, of needless transporting of goods.

While ever you have lazy people who don't care or think and accountants/share holders dictating bottom line profits, there will never be any sense in any of it

I once bought a suit with a similar back story:

New Zealand wool
Woven in Italy
Made in China
