Jerilderie Jaunt is now at Dooen. Last two were long weekends. It was the Australia Day Weekend. Now someone has put a work Monday on the middle. The main days will likely be Sat and Sun however I will be there all four days and you are welcome dor as long or short as you like. Love to have some or all for 4 days

That places it a little over 400 km w / sw of the previous 2

http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/12/17/011471133a2cd06f1c948559c71df397.jpg

It is about 1/2 way between Adelaide and Melbourne on the northern edge of Horsham.

http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/12/17/55c252b7c97d7406dcccc9f98a28a0b1.jpg

Not for the faint hearted as this is the first year at the property and well, lets say she's a little rough when it comes to living quarters.

There is a shed and will be at least 4 lathes on hand to use.

http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/12/17/2e2315084ef279b7c3bead0820d96c27.jpg

For anyone who wants to rough it there is plenty of room for a swag, tent or caravan.

What will be

show and tell
Buy, swap, sell & give away
A yarn or three
Food, food and more food
Oppurtunity to use or learn on a lathe
Fire heap challenge
Oldgreybeard may give some photograpgy and photoshop lessons
Maureen is talking of bringing her spinning wheel
Raechell will have her dolls and be happy to show anyone interested

What to bring

Anything for the above
A chair
A wood working project/s to do or show off
Metal working as well if so inclined
Areo guard and a hat
Some of your work

Fire Heap Challenge

There is a heap of fire wood and cut branches etc. The challenge to make something from that heap. What ever is made must be minimum 90 % from that heap and the scrap metal heap.

Two prizes will be awarded
1st place as judged by those in attendance
1st place as judged by the forum (if I work out how to do a poll. Should 1st both be taken by the same piece then the forums choice award will go to second place. If Springwater makes it he will be allowed to enter the piece he started on last year)

Any ideas or donations as to what the prizes may be are most welome.

Accommodation

Horsham will provide the greatest range and closest accommodation for those who do not wish to rough it. This is a wotif link but feel free to look up locations by other means
https://www.wotif.com/Hotel-Search#daysInFuture=0&stayLength=1&regionId=7742&destination=Horsham,+Victoria,+Australia

The house would be on offer but there is no floor to sleep on

Any demos or workshops are more than welcome as would be a lesson on how to use a mill or metal lathe

Please let us know your level of interest in attending.

It all looks ok from here, so you can lock us in as coming, Dave.

Since Matt has already booked the Queen Anne room we will bring our tent. It lives in a drawer in the back of the ute anyway so no problems there. :2tsup:

I might even try to finish the project to put the solar panels on top of the ute canopy before then. You need solar panels to charge the batteries to run the Engel to keep the beer cold and the food fresh.:2tsup: Until this came up the next camping trip was Easter.

It will probably only be for the Saturday and Sunday at this stage, but you never know.

Just had an unprovoked conversation about a trip to Horsham at the end of next month ... looks like the seed has taken and it's building a bud to bloom....

It means I could start thinking about what I could bring along. I'm cuttently demolishing an old house, and there are loads of old ob bearers etc that would be perfect (after a denailing) for bench builds....

If anyone is interested let me know soon so I can save it from the firewood pile (Tuesday 6 at the latest)

Seeing as it is just me I will rough it. Grew up in the country so no problem there. A swag or sleeping bag in the back of the ute will be fine.
I have a few things for BS&S. Do you have any requests in the way of food items at this stage?

Nothing particular for food.

There is no drinking water on the property so drinks will be needed.

Will try and provide food options to suit all. Some may bring something some may drop a dollar or two in a tin and others might just eat. I dont fuss about it too much, things have a way of working themselves out.

Plenty of space on the property, think we are gonna have so good evenings with those staying

Don't forget Doug3030 n Jools.

I served 20 years in the Army so it sounds like luuuuxxxuuury to me

Jools was the first female Queens Scout in the Seymour district.

I do not think it will be too rough to us.

Part of our standard "load List" for a camping trip is a 20 ltr container of drinking water, which is more than enough for the two of us and only to happy to share, but we will only be there until Sunday Afternoon due to work commitments.

As I said in the Incra thread:

I may have to pop thru your way again sometime and have the advatages of the system fully expounded to me

Dave TTC
Turning Wood Into Art
I could bring a "disembodied" LS positioner (just the positioner and wonderfence not attached to tablesaw or router table) to your GTG at the end of the month, Dave, and let you and others see how it works, if you would like.

What I love about Incra is how everything is repeatable. If you have cut it once and recorded the settings you can cut another one EXACTLY the same any time in the future, no matter how many times you have moved the fence. Great for production work (Hey Doug, I love that thingy you made, can you make me one just like it) or for when a piece gets damaged during another stage of construction and you need to duplicate it.

Let me know if you think that would be worth doing.
Cheers

Food

A few have asked about food.

I will endeavour to PM everyone over the coming week incase this post is missed

There will be food here and more can be got if we run short.

There will be breakfast lunch and tea for those who want it.

There is a pub virtually next door for any who want to go and get a couner meal (at your own expense). Not encouraging a booze up but likely will be a drink or two in the evening for any who BYO

If you have special dietary needs you can bring your own or let me know and if I can I will accommodate.

If you want to bring anything to contribute to the supplies you are welcome to do so. As some are travelling some distance this is by no means expected.

Life has a way of throwing all sorts of challnges at us. If you cant afford to contribute finacially or with provisions dont be put off, come anyway.

For those who want to donate a few $$ there will be a tin or jar somewhere. I dont need to know who did or didnt donate or how much. Just come and have a ood time.

Thanks mate, I wasn't counting on that but can do if there are a few who would be interested. What are people interested in - beginners or advanced? Or maybe a run through of how I handle processing of digital images using Lightroom and Photoshop. I'll test my projector over the next couple of days, haven't used it for 18 months, but a screen could be handy, will let you know.

Bob

Projector is fine to go and I have an old screen (has a few wrinkles) but should do the job. Do we have any others interested or should I just plan for
a demo for Raechell and you? Don't want to bring extra equipment if not required as we may go to Avoca and the Pyrenees on Mondat anf Tuesday - still to be decided.

Is there power available for the caravan or should I bring a generator?

Ray & I are traveling down on the Sunday from Blue Mts via Cowra and returning on the Wednesday so if there's enough interest, I'd surely appreciate the lesson if you can stay. Cheers, Peter

May not hurt to bring a generator. Depends where you park and how much machiney is running. If you want to travel light we will make a lead reach. As for the demo Im sure there will be plentybof interest. There are a few who will not be getting there till Sunday night. If you were stilk there then they would love a session. I was thinking towards evening may be a nice wknd down time where we can sit back and enjoy your tallent and instruction.
