That Masters has bought out some Mitre10 franchises and is going to use these as a base to improve its business.
Anyone else heard this???

It doesn't make sense to me. Would they be buying the Mitre 10 model or their expertise in hardware?

Probably cheaper than building a store and out fitting it, plus buying out the competition. Particularly in the smaller regions, where an existing hardware store, wouldn't make it viable.

Where have you guys been? Magnet Mart / Home Hard Wear here (ACT) belong to Woolworth's, but they seem to be running it separately and differently to Masters.

A couple of years ago Bunnings bought the Mitre 10 in Werribee and converted it to a Bunnings.

Opened up this morning to post about the Lowes bit as I had seen a brief item by Alan Kohler on the ABC just yesterday.
