art wanderlust

Retired and with tons of time in my hands I am looking to starting a project at the end of the year or beginning of 2016.
The idea is to build a teardrop trailer using plywood and perhaps cladding with thin alum sheeting. I like more the wooden look but I am not sure how it will cope with the weather and keeping it pristine without be a slave. ( timber boats come to my mind)
This forum is a fantastic source of information with a great friendly members and I am sure that will assist me with the project.
Because the body will be 3 m long and 1.6 high I would need some help fro you members in how I van join the ply in a neat way among other information :)
THIS (http://www.angib.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/teardrop/tear27.htm) and THIS OTHER (http://www.angib.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/teardrop/tear56.htm) designs are close to what I have in mind
Cheers
