Hi I'm about to paint, one by one 14 internal doors....with dulux gloss enamel...I was thinking that I would get a much better job with a spray gun....anyone got any recommendations as to which ones I should look at...if I'll need a compressor etc.
Regards

I'm no expert but I would have thought that spraying doors with gloss would be a no no. My thinking is that gloss paint is more viscous than regular paint and therefore wouldn't be coming out from a gun too well unless you watered it down etc.
From what I have been informed, I think, you would need at least a 40L compressor, but even then you would only get short bursts from it, once again, probably not a good thing in the first place, let alone with gloss.
I'm no expert though, ... will be interested to hear what some more senior peops think.
cheers

no problems to spray gloss enamel I done a lot of it. you will have to thin the paint slightly and for best results you will need a gun and compressor (mimimum 4 cubic feet, don't know metric):)

I have used an airless spray gun for years. Some German make, relatively expensive, but works great. Certainly less $$ than a compressor.
Only complaint is that the 'tank' or reservoir only holds about 800 mls, which is a pain when you're doing the side of a house. You can get a kit to feed direct from the can tho.
If interested I'll hunt it out from the paint store on weekend and give the brand.
