G'day all, Been awhile...

I have had an insurance job done on my bathroom/laundry and they have replaced 60yr old chipboard with aqua-tite yellowtongue.

I was wondering if this stuff is sandable so I can seal it to get that look alike cork look.

Anyone know if this is possible?

If it is sandable, whats a good clear sealer called?

:)

Hi

I think it's probably a bad idea to sand it - the adhesives that bind the chips are almost certainly pretty nasty. It also comes with a waxy coating. You caould probably still seal it though.

It'll sand ok.
Give it 4 or 5 coats of poly.
Rub and back lightly between coats.

gemi-babe,
have seen structafloor and similar sanded and polished, looks okay. I'd go with two pack estapol, it's been around for ever (good track record) and is very durable.
