View Full Version : Adding double glazed panels to existing windows

So, half the house is a century old and the windows have suffered the impacts of time (probably be replaced at some point). However, the extension is only decades old and the windows are in good condition.

The good frames have plenty of depth where the glass sits and the panes are held in place with a timber bead.

Is there a reason I can't I get double glazed panes made up to size and install myself? I understand the measurement is critical as it can't be changed afterward.

If feasible would such panels be ordered through a normal glazier shop or does anyone know specialist suppliers in Melbourne?

Cheers.
