Just finished an audio book ... "The Martian" by Andy Weir

Enjoyable and pretty awesome. It might appeal to a good number of people who are interested in making stuff for themselves.

A guy is left behind (alone) on Mars in an emergency evac situation, and needs to MacGyver a solution to staying alive in that environment. A lot of thought has been put into it and it seems pretty fact-based. You *will* believe numbers are important.

It's kinda Apollo 13 taken four levels beyond and I thought it was very very good.
Bit of swearing. Often very humorous.

I thought it was terrific. The Ultimate DIY.

Cheers,
Paul

Woah. Best interview ever .... ok ... just really good and interesting.

The guy calculated real dates and orbit trajectories for everything taking place ... and the delay times for transmissions back and forth (eg between Mars and Earth) are *calculated* and vary over time.
