after watching this space for some time I reckon it might be good to join the "club"...
My name is Markus and in the past half century I was lucky enough to play, or even get paid working with, many materials from sheetmetal (car bodywork), metals (toolmaking and more) plastics (composite and thermoplastics), rock (walls), fabric, felt and leather (accessories, clothing, hats etc), and of course TIMBER: from Balsa RC model aircraft to furniture and carpentry.
The beauty of woodwork is manifold, starting with the beauty of the grain when oiled (my favourite surface treatment) to the numerous ways of shaping it to your ideas (sometimes a pocket knife will do).
There is a lot to learn in life and I am sure woodwork is a skill that will never be redundant, and there is a lots more to know.
Anyway, I am looking forward to do more and learn more.
Cheers,
Markus
