With distressing sadness I announce the passing of Bernie Gregory last Tuesday 20th January 2015, aged 86.
I'm posting this on the board is because there would be a reasonable number of Sydney and NSW members who may have had contact with him at some stage of their lives.
This would include anyone who attended the following Primary Schools:
Bungambil Public 1948 - 1949
Murrumburrah Central 1949 - 1954
Marrickville Public 1955 - 1960
Sylvania Public 1961
Miranda Public 1962 - 1964
Heathcote Public 1965 - 1969
Panania Public 1970 - 1982
Bangor Public 1983 - 1988
Anyone who studied with the Effective Social Studies text books may recall the author J.B. Gregory.
After retiring from teaching in 1988 he went to be a representative for the NSW Teachers CU, and then to Bridges Financial Services. He conducted retirement planning seminars for teachers all across NSW, so there may be some teachers out there who came across him at one of his seminars in the period 1989 - 2003.
For those who may have an interest, I have attached the eulogy that I'll be reading (with great difficulty) at his funeral in Coffs Harbour next Tuesday 27th January.
It would be great to hear from anyone who knew him under his various hats.
