Went down to Nambucca Heads for the 50th anniversary of our Leaving Certificate year and then onto Liverpool for a flying visit so Ana could have a check up on her knees.

I paid a very quick visit to Timberbits on the way through from Forster to Liverpool and was stunned by the shabby appearance of so many of the areas we drove through. Unkempt lawns, dead cars, yards full of rubbish - these all seem to be the norm.

We stayed in Brisbane on the way back and I noted a similar pattern with unkempt lawns. The number of cars in some yards and on the streets in the outer areas is probably an indication of the lack of good public transport. This then adds to the mess on our roads.

It was a sobering and somewhat saddening experience. Just glad I don't live in either place.

You drove down but didn't call round :o shame on you.

Not sure what suburbs you drove through but the North shore must be real bad ATM then. Should have used the Toll ways its often a car park full of cars :p.

Hows Ana doing and of course yourself?

Yes Ray, I was in a quandary about both you and Hughie but time was truly my enemy and Ana needed to get her feet up.

Drove down Pennant Hills Road, Cumberland Hwy etc., through Yenora and onto Liverpool. Just sad really.

Ana is doing very well. The doctor is extremely pleased with the response to the stem cell therapy as is Ana. She now walks without pain for the first time in about 12 years! Rest is still needed - none of this on the feet all day and, provided that rule is followed, I see no reason why in another 18 months or so we shouldn't be able to say she is fully recovered.

As for me I no longer have to see the neuro surgeon; my kidneys checked out fine and the cardiologist is very pleased with my weight loss and the improvement in blood sugars, triglycerides and cholesterol. Cholesterol medication has been cut in half and might even get stopped altogether when I get tested in Feb.

:2tsup: Well done Ana.

Yennora has not changed in 40 years and the area around Timberbits well its industrial with little or no parking thought about long long ago.

You keep at it Arthur you'll get there, just cut out the red wine stale cheese and .............:;
