No it is not.
What opperating system are you using? (I hope its not ME)
Have you installed drivers for the adapter?
If you open "system" under "control panel" is there any devices not installed correctly (exclamation mark). Also can you see the new blue tooth adapter under system?

Sorry about all the questions, but need more info to assist.

Using me on 2 computers and xp home on the server.
The adapter drivers were correctly installed.
When starting the adapters the message appears that outlook xp is required

Just a thought, if you are using the blue toth for a palm pilot, mobile phone etc it may be using some info from outlook i.e adress book, or sync.

Outlook comes with Microsoft Office. I think it used to be available separately once but not any more. It sounds as if you need to install Office XP. If you don't already have it that makes the bluetooth adapters rather expensive.

I hate products with software dependencies like that. Is there any mention on the box of minimum system requirements?

The problem may also reside in the fact that XP home does not have the same network support of Windows XP Professional.

Windows ME is just Windows 98 dolled up with a skirt and makeup.

You should NOT need Outlook (piece of cr*p, virus magnet) Search the web for drivers- they'll be out there.

I use bluetooth between my computer, Palm, Pocket PC, phone (with bluetooth earpiece), printer, mouse, keyboard, wife's phone and her Palm, mac and BT mouse. I also know when the boss is in the area and to stop typing on this damned BB because I detect his phone and impending arrival via bluetooth as well :D

But do I like bluetooth? Very convenient (when it works), bloody slow. Stay well away from Microsoft bluetooth - they use their own standards which means that even if you have a BT enabled laptop, their keyboard / mouse will not work with it without using their plugin receiver. (So why bother with the extra cost?)
