Another BNE noob here who is also a sparky by trade. Now doing software (c++) programming for a living and have done so for about 15 years now. Signed up the other day to look at some pics.
Been looking for a panel saw for ages now, and bought an old one today. Its a Woodman MBS300, so not a toy, but not a professional model either. New house, no shed yet so no where to store it at the moment :o. Going to have to be a tarp in the back yard for now! Anyway, the seller also had a carbatec 15" thicknesser for sale, so I grabbed that too. Its got a spare set of carbide blades cause the old blades have a nick in them, which looks a lot like its from a nail. I have no idea how to set up the blades so I might have to request some help from someone here to help me in the near future!
I love timber, been something I have enjoyed since I did woodwork in school, which I got an academic merit in!! Since then, I have mostly just done house type stuff when renovating. Been keen to do some real joinery for a while now and am just starting to get into it. I also have a morbid fascination for old timber boats (especially carvel) and timber aircraft. I am both an aviator and sailor!
There is plenty of questions coming, so be prepared!!
Cheers,
Andy.
